We are nearing the end of our vacation.
We leave in four more days, headed back to the east coast where we call home. Our beds were left messy and thermostat set to freeze your butt off cold. We miss it but will be sad to leave this chaos friendly kid haven.
This morning started rough. We were awakened by the spine shivering gurgles of a child vomiting on the floor of the bathroom. The clean up was less than pleasent and Amie really did not want to have her hair washed. We finally got her to sip at a cup of Sprite then go back to sleep. Daddy kept a watchful eye over our sick babe from his perch on the couch.
Now that the heathen children have eaten a quality breakfast of Luck Charms and Sprite they are ready to take on even the toughest of tasks. As I type this, a pillow war is being waged between lifetime rivals: Adults vs. Children. Amie and Max are beating down Jeremiah as he scampers across the floor on his knees. Safety for this silly grown up comes only in brief stints when I call for a time out. We want to keep the play light for fear of upsetting Amie's already weakened stomach. She seems to be doing well now but we are still cautious.
For now, I think I should break up the war and make another snack for the starving army of preschoolers.
XOXO, A. Scott
