sillyness

After we all got naps today everyone had a much sweeter temperament! It's nice to wake up not wanting to just go back to sleep without seeing what the day has in store.

I made the promise to Amie before Miah finally rolled out of bed that we would head to Walmart for a girls outing. Well, what started as a girls thing ended up being an everyone thing. I'm not going to complain, it ended up being fun.

In the car we went through the alphabet with Amie. She's working hard to recognize letters and their sounds. Thanks Word World for helping us out here, she was less than motivated until after watching the first 3 season a billion times. (That's a tad exaggerated!) It's a great show, everyone with kids should try it out! Back on topic now. We started asking her to name words that begin with each letter. A is easy, She loves screaming A M I E any time we talk about the letter A. It took a little prompting to get a B word but she managed Banana without assistance from us. C was a bit tricky for her, it sounds like a K. We prompted her to try to think of an animal, one she's seen before. After a few seconds of "Ummm..." and a lot of quite inbetween she finally proclaimed "a horse, mommy. Sea Horse begins with C" Who can blame her for thinking that! Jeremiah and I laughed so hard. I even felt compelled to send it out in a text message to our family. Darn smarty pants. It's going to be hard teaching her the right way now!

We had fast food for supper, not my favorite but it's nice to not cook or clean for one evening. We love going to McDonalds, they have the only indoor play place in the area that I know of. Most of the play places I've been in are troublesome. They smell and have a nice coat of grime on everything. The only fault I have with this place is that it is a sunroom and tends to get a bit toasty during the day but other than that, it's CLEAN! Both kids love running around in there.

When we finally made it to Walmart Jeremiah and I split up. We both had specific lists. Mine was Tylenol and purple yarn, Miahs was milk and bread. By the time we met back up, he had a cart full of extra stuff and I had an extra ball of yarn and an outfit for Temperance. (I couldn't pass up the clearance 3/6 month outfit for $2. It was just too cute and a great price too!) I don't know how much we spent on produce this time but he better not complain if any of it goes to waste because he was the one pushing to get "healthier" snacks in the house. I hope he starts eating more fruits and vegetables so I don't get guilt tripped every time I want to buy fresh produce for my snacking pleasure! (Produce bought for me rarely goes to waste around here. He rarely notices how much of it I eat, jut what gets pitched into the trash.) The kids did wonderfully on this outing, no one got grumpy and Amie didn't sit in the cart the entire time. She's becoming more responsible every day!

That's it for now. Kids are sleeping, Miah has gone off to work and I'm now alone with nothing but time to craft! (That's my favorite time of the day.) I have things planned and I can't wait to show off the stuff I've finished. I promise I'll take a picture of the girly things for Miss Faith before they get sent off. Oh and all those other gift waiting in the wings... Pictures will be posted after they make it to their destination. I'd hate to ruin a surprise for someone!

XOXO, A. Scott
