tight fit

We've been tossing around the idea of buying a new car soon. Now with Temperance due in July we needed to make a decision and get the ball rolling. I guess our floors are uneven because it went backwards.

The new plan is to keep my Sentra. Which, by the way, I LoVe and can't stand the idea of "upgrading" it to a minivan. For at least 3 more years my Sentra will remain mine. (Yay!)

We now are faced with a new issue. Either we take two cars everywhere because two rear facing convertible car seats and a 5 point harness booster will not fit in my back seat or I have to find a new set of seats for the kids. There is a solution but it's not my favorite...

I have to give up my beloved convertible that Matthew currently uses. He's old enough, heavy enough and tall enough to move to a forward facing booster. I will miss that lovely seat! Amie also gets to move to the shoulder harness this summer. We haven't told her yet but I tested my "maturity" theory with her earlier when we went to check the mail, it's only 3 houses down right next to our tennis courts. She passed for the most part. We will need to get her one of the backless booster seats though so the shoulder strap doesn't bother her neck and make the seat belt issue a major fight every time.

So that's the solution. We need to pull the convertible out of my car and replace it with the standard infant car seat (you know the one's parents carry their kids in all the time... Which is not safe for newborns, especially while they have trouble holding their head up.) Matty will get Amie's hand-me down seat, which happens to be blue (and she loves it) so she can pick a new booster.

Since we are now saving $20,000+ on making sure we have enough room for three car seats I've been given permission to pick which ever replacements I like that fir the size requirement... The decision might take until the last minute but you can be certain that whatever I pick wont be covered in PINK or FLOWERS!

(Try to keep this quiet around the kids but we've started debating wether or not to get them a power wheels now that it's getting warmer!) Miah went to work early so I might get a little crafting in tonight, Amie wanted matching Tutu's for Temperance and herself... We'll see how that works out, little ones are easier than big ones!

XOXO, A. Scott
