We've all decided to cut our grocery bill. If we can do it now and stick to a budget a better car might be in our future. I'm saddened to see the little yummies disappear, like my out of season berries that for some reason only taste good when you realize just how much they cost to be in your home. Never will they expire before being finished because you understand how much you've truly wasted if they start growing penicillin. I'm going to miss the artisan cheeses I'm only allowed in mouse nibbles because one pound of it costs more than one weeks worth of meals. Good bye snacky munchies like potato chips and soda, they're not really good for you anyway! Regardless of whether or not we need to make these changes, we feel it's for the best. It's going to be a hard habit to change, I like trying new foods. At least I've got an agreement from the boss that I can buy fresh produce (for awhile he was convinced that it all went to waste because he didn't eat it... Now we've found ways to cook it so everyone like it, especially broccoli!)
We love having friends over... I wish we had games to play with them since we all love to laugh together! Supper is always better when it is shared with people that can make you smile. It's also a plus when your kids enjoy their company too. It makes me sad to see them go home although I'm sure the break from each other is what makes us enjoy our time together that much more.
We have a very short while until we get to see our newest little one. The ultrasound is on the 18th and although I'm still not interested in knowing what it is, Miah is adamant that it makes life easier if we find out now. I'd love to get the "itelligender" test just to see how "accurate" it is. So far, it's failed to hold up to the 80ish% correct standards posted on their website... Sorry Chan, I know what you wanted but you have a beautiful family even if their results were wrong. Miah and I are fairly certain that we will know without the tech telling us what they see in the pictures... He's got this idea in his head that I want a girl and he wants a boy. Really all I want is healthy. I want a girl because I can think of a girl name, if I could find a boy name I liked then I would want a boy too. (a boy would be easier to deal with since all the clothes and supplies we own are pretty boy theme heavy and the hand me downs we would get from family is boy themed too.)
I'm pretty sure everyone wants me to get off of the computer... I don't know what the plan for today is but I hope it doesn't include lounging around the house or cleaning. I wouldn't mind getting pretty just to go out for a hour or so.
XOXO, A. Scott
Congratulations on being pregnant - i know I'm late, but I got your album invite and saw it. :] I'll be following your blog from now on, considering I'm such an awful correspondant. Cutting back is hard, we've had to do it. Especially when I have such snobby tastes. Haaa. Getting fresh produce is great, though. Nothing like FRESH!
ReplyDeleteAlso - if my name didn't give it away - this is tabitha!
Better late than never! In my opinion, you're right on time. I just got in trouble for buying fresh asparagus but it's just not the same from a can... It's so mushy and slimy and you can't do anything with it unless you're making a smoothie (of which, I wouldn't touch!) Oddly though, we have really GOOD out of season produce here, I have yet to come across any with squishy spots and funky coloring. I just hope the trend continues and it gets better as the season begins to warm up... Oh and it would be nice if prices dropped soon, $5 for a small thing of berries is financial abuse.
