Happy Mommy Day!

Mother's Day came and went and in this house there was very little celebration.

Don't worry, we acknowledged the day and it's significance but there were no bouquets of flowers, chocolates or a private diner shared by Mommy and Daddy. Why? Because it's another Hallmark holiday. The day I became a Mommy, which is much more important to me, is the day I found out about the new presence in my life. (Amie was in Jan. 2007, Matthew was in April 2009 and Temperance was in Nov. 2010) 40 weeks later I put those quickly learned mommy skills to the test. We are still waiting on Temperance to test my patience and ability to multitask but her time will come soon enough.

Yesterday my family did what we often do on our weekends together. We spent it together. Daddy rolled on the floor with the Monkey and Doodle while I caught up on laundry. I did 5 loads yesterday, I hope I'm done for a little while. (This makes me seem like I'm totally lazy and never wash our clothes, not true! I normally do a load every few days. We had a huge influx of baby things take over that needed to be washed, folded then sorted into their respective drawers or storage. Temperance now has enough clothing to get her through the first 6 months without buying anything. The next 6 months we might need to get a few things but not much.) While I was with the kids, Daddy tackled the project that was making him itch, he wanted to get his new kicking target weighted and the garage cleaned so he could work out in the evenings when kids are in bed.

Other than that, we've knocked out a lot of cleaning and organizing. My craft room is now half way there! Fabric is folded, craft supplies have homes, the floor is mostly clear of boxes and what not... The elephant in this room is now the day bed which has been deconstructed and propped against the wall. I think the plan is to gift it to a needy family on CL. The unseen annoyance here is the closet, jammed full of Star Wars books and holiday decorations. We'll find a way to deal with it in time, I'm sure!

That's it for our family. How was your holiday, I hope it was a great day!

XOXO, A. Scott
