It's almost V-Day. Less than 30 minutes away we will be celebrating Valentines day. I think I want to make pizza (allrecipes.com has a picture of cute heart shaped pizzas that make me drool every time I see them, I guess now's the time to make them!) and maybe we will finally let Amie cut out some heart shaped cookies. She keeps digging out my cutters, she's been begging me to do this but I really dislike baking cookies... I like them crispy and my hubby likes them gooey, see the slight issue. Yeah, I could always pull his out a little earlier than mine but it's just not the same, they end up a bit funky.
Ok well that was off topic from what I started with anyway. Im excited because now that V-Day will be over SOON I can start on some really cute Easter projects. (Sorry St. Patricks Day, you fall into the V-Day category. Everyone likes to celebrate by wearing green and knocking back a pint but what really is there to the holiday? We have no desire or need to celebrate St. Patty.)
I found a cute idea for an easter egg wreath and the dollar tree had everything I needed. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect plastic grass (I wanted a different color than our dollar tree had) but if nothing else I can get the eggs glued down. I really want to make a peeps bunting but I have a feeling that the sewing project will be vetoed by my husband! I'd also love to tackle making some festive pictures or other cute decorations to make our home "springy."
As silly as this may sound, I'm afraid if I make it all now I'll run out of crafts. It's almost impossible to run out of things to do/make but I don't ever want to be satisfied with the way our home looks. I want there always to be a project to do.
I guess what I should do is make a binder or journal to hold pictures and how-to's for all these cute holiday crafts I find online so I can come back to them when I have the chance. I doubt I'll be doing much crafting for me or the house this year.
Quick update on the recipe album progress: I have 5 recipes in already (Potato Soup, Clam Chowder, Pork Chops, Stuffed Bell Pepper and Lasagna.) I've completed all 26 pages for 2 recipes, just waiting on pictures for those (don't worry, that can wait to be done a bit later! I know some of you want to have family picture done at special times this year.) I'm pretty sure I need a new printer cartridge and I may have also under estimated the amount of glue and cardstock I need. It's a good thing I can always find a free shipping deal and decent sale online, in fact I'm pretty sure Joann's is 40% off right now! (another bonus: Miah does not argue with buying supplies for this project if it means he doesn't have to help with the actual crafting, SCORE 1 FOR THE A TEAM!)
XOXO, A. Scott
