Visitors!

Aunt Larissa and her boyfriend John drove up for a week long visit with us. Little Jamie did well on his LOONG drive from VA but became quite cranky this evening, in fact all the kids did. Amie didn't want to mind, it's more fun to play with the new baby visiting us than clean up her toys. It also did not help that Matty got half of his normal nap this afternoon.

As soon as they walked through the door Amie promptly dragged the trio up to her bedroom to show off her new bunk beds. She gave the grand tour of the house telling everyone proudly, "This is mommy's bed" and "Heres Mommy's bath, it makes tons of bubbles!" The tour didn't last very long but at least now everyone knows where the important rooms are, Mommy's bedroom, Amie's bedroom, Amie's bathroom, area in the living room that we store toys in... The powder room and kitchen were not part of her tour, I hope no one gets hungry anytime soon!

Regardless, I did not feel like whipping up an extravagant homemade meal so we had Dominos deliver pizza to us. For what we paid, we could have baked a much better pizza than that. Then again, tonight was not the night for gourmet endeavors!

Well, I didn't have any dishes from supper to clean... WOO HOO! For some stupid reason every sippy cup in the house needed chocolate milk to be scrubbed out of the valves and there was a sink full of plastic kids plates and bowls. Why is it that we own more kids dishes than adult dishes, especially since there is an equal ratio of kids to adults? I still ended up with my hands in a sink full of hot soapy water scrubbing things I wanted so badly to ignore.

For being a night owl, John was the first to pass out on the love seat (he's the biggest person here on the smallest "bed") followed quickly by my own heathen children and Jamie. When I left the living room, Larissa was tiredly checking her Facebook messages. I'm fairly certain she's shut the TV down for the night, ours has a distinct click anytime it's turned on or off. They all need their rest, the drive was long and they had no break once they got here.

I think it's now time for me to retire. Jeremiah won't be off until late (actually, very early in the morning) and do not intend to be awake when he walks through the door.

XOXO, A. Scott
