13 more weeks to go!

Today marked the passing of another OB appointment. The Gestational Diabetes testing was to be done as soon as I arrived. I had to slurp down an absolutely delicious blend of Kool-aid and EXTRA sugar. I almost wish they had just given me a 1lb bag of granulated sugar to spoon down my throat, it would have burned less. Everytime I have this test done I feel as though I've acid burned my esophagus. I think I made record time by finishing my cup off in 1 minute out of their allotted 5.  After that I was quickly dragged back to my exam room. Early appointments always go the quickest! Well, the normal measurements and checks were done and everything is looking perfectly normal. My weight has taken a slight spike, I'm now weighing in at a hefty 116 lbs.  I'm very excited, my OB signed off on the donation forms and I'm ready to mail them in so we can get the collection kit. Jeremiah and I don't want to loose the chance to donate her blood, it could save any number of lives through research! From there it was back to the waiting room to finish out my hour. I'm glad I brought a new project with me. I started a green blanket for Temperance. While waiting I finished off 3 1/2 rows and had time to persuade Jeremiah to buy me more yarn while he was at Walmart.  At 10:17 my time was up and I went back to the lab to get my blood drawn. If nothing else, this self imposed sugar rush causes me to bleed so the process went quickly and I was out to the car in no time.

Jeremiah gave me the "kid report" as soon as I was buckled in. They were very well manered at Walmart! Really, when did this happen? Last time I checked, my kids were heathens but I guess even the most antsy of babes can have good days. I'm glad he got to see them at their best. They bought their Easter baskets and some produce and oil for my sewing machine. Hopefully I can get it up and running again. If not, I've still got my crochet to keep me busy until I can find out whats wrong.

I can hear them goofing off downstairs now. Our hope is to burn off all of Amie's energy so that she crashes out for a nap before I need to leave for my next appointment. Off to the chiropractor next. I'm so glad I finally went, my pain level has dropped off dramatically since I started seeing him. Now the only time I'm in any noticable discomfort is when I'm laying down, getting up or late into the evening. See, now I'm able to define times and activities that hurt instead of all the time!

Oh, yesterday we met our new neighbors. They are a lovely family with three girls, ages 6, 4 and 3. Their girls love dress up, pink and princesses. I see a friendship for Amie in the near future! Matty even enjoyed playing in their room with the four girls, although his playing was more exploration than anything. They also have one more girl due this July. I see a very close relationship forming between their family and ours!

XOXO, A. Scott
