I swear this count down till Easter thing is getting a bit old.
It's Easter already, where's the celebration. Here's a look into our day:
Amie decided to start the day off very early, around 5:30am before the rooster was ready to cock-a-doodle. By the time Daddy finally got home Matty had joined our party. We like to start our day off with a leisurely breakfast and brief cartoon run that lasted until I was willing to get off my lazy duff, which happened around 9:00am... I don't think I'm fully awake yet but I have no choice and unfortunately no nap today. While Mr. Party Pants is in bed snoozing away we cleaned house. Correction, I cleaned and heathens watched. Amie eventually helped me carry laundry upstairs and put away her fake food back into her kitchen. Now that my two starving children have been fed a proper lunch of chicken noodle soup, yogurt and a juice pouch I think it's now time for me to start the biggest task of all, getting ready to celebrate the holiday we've put on hold.
My hope is to get Amie to take a nap in about one hour so I can drag all of the Easter baskets and eggs out from hiding. Since today has been overcast and the weatherman's prediction is rain we decided to celebrate indoors with an Easter Basket Treasure Hunt. I've created "clue cards" from riddles I found online, some have been reworked to suit our family where as others were perfect as is. I'll post the clues later with their answers for anyone that wants to use this for their own children. I think it may be a little difficult for my two this year but hopefully they will enjoy the game all the same.
After that, well, that's the end o our holiday. We have no real traditions or expectations for Easter. For us, it's just another commercialized holiday with little meaning. Hopefully in the years to come we can find some way to give this special day some importance for our family.
XOXO, A. Scott
