Zoom, zoom.

We've toyed with the idea of buying the kids a power wheels style car since sometime before our big move. Tonight Jeremiah finally had enough of the table talk. He dragged us kicking and screaming all the way to Toys R Us to see how the kids responded to the cars he had on his list.

Amie and Matty both really enjoyed climbing all over the various vehicles. Top pick for Bug, I bet you'll get it in one guess, was the pink Barbie car. Sorry cutie, not on The List! Matty kept running back to the Kawasaki, once again, not on The List. I think he preferred it because of the shovel that was zip tied to the cargo rack. The winner of the cars ended up being the olive green Jeep! While Daddy got the dimensions so we could make further plans (shipped vs. picked up without kids) Amie and I walked around to look at things we didn't need but really wanted. She ended up with a new game for her MobiGo, Tangled. They were offering a 20% discount off of the 20 retail... My math is really off, according to me the discount is only $2. I was pleasantly surprised at how much we saved. Matty also ended up with a cute pair of brown corduroy sneakers on clearance for $5. I walked away pretty disappointed that I hadn't also found a pair for Amie or anything for Temperance.

We didn't buy the car tonight. There's no way it would have fit in the back of our olive green Jeep with car seats and stroller in tow. Plus, Toys R Us is notorious for being just a tad over priced. Where else can you let your kid climb all over the merchandise before buying it?
I think the plan is to get it from Walmart where the price for this specific vehicle is almost $80 less. We want to buy it soon so that the kids can start to get some real playtime outside.

Amie played around on the patio with chalk yesterday but 10 minutes outdoors barely counts. I just hopes it warms up a bit more soon, it was hailing this morning... I'd trade anything for a warm spring day instead of the chilly afternoons we have here.

We're home now. Jeremiah is patiently attempting to read aloud to the heathens. He's getting better everyday he sits in the hall and trudges through page upon page of the bedtime book. I doubt he would agree with my observations but his storytelling is becoming much more fluid.

Xoxo, A. Scott
