Momentarily fixed

If you've been following my daily rants you know all about my hips.

I HURT. That's an understatement. I spend almost every waking moment in pain. Moving feels awful, sitting feels worse and it's almost impossible for me to spend more than a few hours sleeping before my pain awakens me.

My OB has recommended 4,000mg of Tylenol every day and using my heat pad to help relieve the discomfort. It helps for about 5 minutes.

Today I saw a chiropractor. Ba, Papa and Jeremiah have been suggesting it for awhile now and I finally broke down and made the appointment. It was the best decision ever! I was given a fairly thorough exam to determine the cause of my discomfort. The cause: my hips are misaligned. (I'm pretty sure answer to "why?" is that I tend to carry around a chunky toddler on only one side. Add to that the hormone relaxin loosening muscles and ligaments, my hips had no fighting chance.)

We did my first session of massage therapy. It was wonderful! As soon as I stood up I could tell things were getting better. I have to go back for frequent sessions for a couple of weeks until I can have my hips realigned.

Samara and I went to the mall afterwards to do some girl bonding. It was nice! I was able to find a cute dress for my girly girl Amie and the most adorable monkey pajamas for a Matty monkey. I wish I had brought my victoria's secret free panty coupon in with me. Maybe I'll send Miah to the mall with it to get something he likes.

I've made it 3 hours with minimal discomfort but it's starting to return now. I was told to expect it would return within about 4 hours. I'm happy to see results. Even a few hours of less pain means more functioning for me. I came home and changed a diaper without struggling to get up.

Hopefully tonight I will sleep a little better than normal.

Xoxo, A. Scott
