We gave the kids their Easter baskets tonight. With Amie's seriously bad 'tude I thought it might not happen at all.
(I just heard their bedroom door open so I anticipate a visitor any minute now... She wants to sleep with me while Jeremiah is on his night shift which I don't mind until I end up sheetless.)
Back to my story, Matty didn't care about any of his toys, which he picked out in the store. As soon as he figured out what the tin foil wrapped goodies were he was in monkey heaven! He kept raiding Amie and Jeremiah's baskets for more bunnies and eggs. Amie ignored her chocolate and went straight for her ring pop and stamps. She now has a lovely streak of pink, blue and purple running up each arm. I tried to scrub it off in the bath but this must be never wear off until your dead and maybe even longer ink. I'm sure it'll wear off eventually, at least this time it wasn't all over her face. We never got around to the Treasure Hunt, I guess I can save all that hard work for another special event, like when Ba's box arrives!
In other news, Jeremiah passed his oral board. He's now into his Instructor quals. The request has been made for me to make 3 massive trays of lasagna for the guys in his section. It's customary here for the sailors to serve a meal to his fellow watch standers for helping him become qualified. I'm pleased that they liked my cooking enough to ask for it. Miah has said on many occasions that the guys complain that their meals are rarely half as good as what he brings in. Hearing things like that put a smile on my face!
Well, I'm up past my pre approved bed time. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday even if it was a bit wonky like ours!
Xoxo, A. Scott
